LEAN Rt - Competitive Manufacturing and Operational Excellence

Australian manufacturing industry is facing challenges that mean to stay competitive we need to be able to produce higher quality, lower cost and above all be more agile and responsive to our customers.

If you are tasked with strategy development or execution to achieve these objectives then you are probably considering lean. If you aren't you should be.

World class manufacturing using a lean Competitive Manufacturing approach is a top down and bottom up process. It is a long term strategy that can provide quick wins through waste identification and elimination but the real gains come through establishing a culture that supports engagement and continuous improvement.

Effective management is vital and we recommend taking a balanced scorecard or visual scoreboard approach. People need both training and information in order to make good decisions. If your people who are doing the process work that adds value are not making good decisions, look up. There may be a problem with communicating your strategy or a lack of support or resources to allow them to perform at a higher level.

LEAN Rt is the training arm of SIRF Roundtables and we are fortunate to work with many leading and developing organisations on the path towards worlds best practice in manufacturing.

We specialize in the training we offer, in fact we specialise in assisting our customers to implement Competitive Manufacturing and understanding lean concepts. The training we offer is part of that but what we do is much more than just delivering vocational training.

Our real focus is on helping to achieve culture change. We're not faint hearted and the companies we work with understand the importance of culture in relation to productivity. Their leaders understand the importance of leadership and are working to ensure that their strategy to secure the future grow of their business is being worked on by everyone in the business.

A traditional "Culture" is often seen as a significant barrier to implementation of best practice as the improvements that are implemented are difficult to sustain without enthusiasm and a focus on continuous improvement. Improvements get lost over time unless the necessary support is in place.

Skills training is an excellent way to ensure that the required skills are available and to break the cycle of improvements degrading over time and slipping back to the staus quo. Lean Rt provides training based on "worked solutions" for people in organizations who want training that leads to tangible results through the application of ideas in a practical way, without re-inventing the wheel.

Leaders in best practice organizations understand that their system is only as strong as the weakest link in their value chain and take a whole of business approach to developing their people. We also take a whole of site approach and work at both the strategic level providing Implementation Coaching for senior leadership and practical certificate training for frontline leaders and workers.
