Planning for Lean implementation is the single most important responsibility for management, yet one that is rarely understood by management when beginning the Lean journey.  In this hands-on workshop at Ramset, participants will learn how to:

  • Evaluate the current business environment from a Lean perspective and define critical gaps.

  • Establish a “true north”  pathway to Lean that articulates the need for change and responds to current challenges in a manner that engages employees

  • Create a deployment plan to share scarce resources,  balance improvement and daily management activities, and set a pace for improvement that fits your organisation

  • Develop means to continually revitalise Lean improvement and overcome plateauing.

  • Manage deliverables to effect major top and bottom line improvements.

Shingo Prize recipient  Bruce Hamilton will facilitate this workshop together with Gary Kerr and Victor Caune, focusing on the critical combination of direct observation in establishing a lean implementation plan that stirs both intellect and emotion and then communicating that plan in such a way as to spur broad employee and management involvement.  Half of the workshop will be devoted to workplace observation using best practices from Toyota, and half to classroom lecture and simulation.  At the conclusion of this event you will understand the basic steps for planning YOUR Lean implementation.
